Surfing Mermaid Designs started on a small dining room table, cluttered with squares. Our founder's story began with an idea handed down through multiple generations, who all shared a love and passion for quilting and fabrics. This interest grew from spending time “watching and doing” in order to learn the gifts, skills, and desire to do this craft from the greatest quilters of all times.
My grandmother, my mother, other family members, and mentors from the Amish community in Lancaster, PA showed me the dedication and effort required to excel at this craft. Spending time with the master quilters allowed me to develop a kinship that takes time and patience, and a relationship that brings designs and patterns together.
